We do not write “quality guaranteed”. We write down which layer was checked and which was not.
For a long time our static checker reported “no issues found”. Only after building a deliberately defective sample did we find that two rules had never matched a single line since the day they were written. Includes an 8-point checklist for peers.
Mutation testing: syntax/structural defects were detected 6/6 by static analysis; semantic defects (e.g. AND changed to OR) were detected 0/6 — while text similarity stayed at BLEU-4 0.9981. Those defects can only be caught by dynamic verification and human review.
